Bluestone
Bluestone, otherwise known as basalt, is primarily blue/grey in color and has a hard wearing nature. Its uses are mainly in landscaping such as kerbing and paving, partially due to its good slip resistant properties, however it can just as easily lend itself to both interior and exterior cladding applications. It can take a polish, but its sheen is lessened by the surface holes that exist, which are called vesiculations. These vesiculations are formed by bubbles rising up through the basalt in the lava form as it cooled down.
