Marble
Marble is a calcium based metamorphic stone. While it can be polished to the same sheen as granite, it will not last as long. Its character will quickly  disappear under a milky film of oxidation. It generally should not be used as  paving in high traffic areas. It is however well suited to interior cladding applications such as foyers and lift lobbies, decorative or low traffic paving,  and for vanities and furniture.
